 10% Reservation Bill 

 Points to know about the bill

1. It is for those economic upper communities that do not come under the 50% quota as mandated by the Supreme Court.

2. The quota will be applicable to economically backwards among Hindus, Muslims, Christians.

3. This new quota will not affect the reservation for SC's, ST's and OBC's.   

4. Apllicable to families:- 

(a) income below 8 lakhs per  annum.

(b) possessing agricultural land below 5 acre.

(c) residential plot below 1000 square feet.

(d) for urban areas, those with residential plot below 100 yards in notified municipality or residential plot below 200 yards in non-notified municipal area will be considered for reservation.
